Football

Yesterday at a Sunday afternoon friendly soccer match, there was talk of the other "football"...

It got me thinking about the biggest sport in the USA. From the conversation I understood that we are in the "playoffs", but I don't know the teams or players names.

I've scheduled a session this week at a football stadium, the one that I photographed below. It is the Connally Stadium. I chose it because they have the artificial grass, and thus it is green all year round.

Fire Dancing

Brrr, it's cold enough tonight to light a fire! One of my life long dreams it to spend a winter in a home that only has a wood burning stove. I love the warmth of fire and the smell of raw wood burning is so delicious.

I took these photos back in December. Maybe the cold from tonight (the low is 38 degrees) helped me to remember this memorable event that got back-pedaled to the rear of my mind. :o)

"Drive " into Spring

December 21st is my favorite day of the year, it's the winter solstice, which means that it is the shortest day of the year and the longest night of the year too. It's a great night to cozy up to a warm fire! While warming myself next to a warm blaze, I create luminaries in my mind of the coming year, and think that each day from now until June 21st (the summer solstice) is going to be full of a little more sunlight.

Which leads me to happy thoughts of spring and being outdoors and basking in the hot texas sun!

The photograph below was taken at such a time, in January of 2007 actually (note the sweater he is wearing *smile*). Although I am a poor golfer, I love being outdoors, and the Texas hill country has some of the most beautiful golf courses.

Now is the perfect time, in the midst of texas winter (did I say texas and winter in the same sentence...ooops!), to start thinking about the joys of the new year, and what are "drive" is for 2009!

Kinder Soccer at NW YMCA

This is my first season coaching Kinder Soccer. Kinder Soccer is soccer for children who are in Kindergarten age range.

I love it!

The children are so amazing, and I really enjoy getting to see there little personalities shine out! Playing soccer is hard work, and they really work hard at it.

I took my camera out this week, and here are my favorites.
