Plants and Peacocks

I have a love for fowls and foliage or "plants and peacocks", as I have titled the photograph below, taken at the Mayfield Nature Preserve, especially on a Sunny Sunday morning when there are more peacocks than people around.

Wednesday, October 22nd, from 10 am to 4 pm is the annual Realty Roundup at the Austin Convention Center. I'll be there with this photograph to give away. Come by and say hello.

Red Bud Isle

We did an amazing photo shoot at Red Bud Isle with me and my daughter. It is so nice to be on the other end of the photo process, and "oh-&-ah" and all of the amazing pieces of art. I am going to hang the photograph of the us standing under a tree in our living room. Madicyn Villalobos is an amazing photographer. I love her natural light photography, which is all she used in making this images.

Thank you, Madicyn. We will cherish these memories forever.

Dinoland

We made the trek to D-I-N-O-L-A-N-D at Zilker Park

This was the first time every that I heard my daughter use the word "scary" in a sentence. They were huge,... and tiny. I recommend the book "DINOSAUR Roar" to read prior to visiting the exhibit.

All in all it was a big hit, we went on a dinosaur hunt from exhibit to exhibit and her favorites were the dinos in a pit. Having Auntie Karly to cling to while I shot away really helped too.

She is the cutest cave-baby there ever was..I think we'll have to wear the outfit to school on Monday morning. :o)

Collin could just capture your heart...

Collin could just capture your heart, just like he has done to his parents. He really has an eye for detail. He enjoyed finding the "squirrel food" (acorns) and trying to take a nibble!

Alisa, Chidi, Adora, & Grandpa

A beautiful late Sunday morning, instead of brunch, we head out to the Nature preserve. Red flowers bloom, and the lush green makes you feel like you are in a tropical rain forest. Despite the beautiful surroundings that might captivate some, baby Adora only has eyes for her Grandpa. Momma makes her giggle by singing and playing with her feet, Daddy tickles her chin.

Mayfield Nature Preserve: Peacocks and Koi

It has been YEARS since I had been to Mayfield Nature Preserve. The last time I was there was to photograph a wedding. This little park is definately a jewel nearly in the heart of Austin, Texas. It was supposed to rain and thunderstorm today, and fortunately it didn't and we ended up with some beautiful natural lighting coming in through the puffy clouds in the western sky.

The fish and peacocks were a thrill to the 3 year old son at the session. He was following them evey where with such joy and excitement. ..which I was thrilled about because I was able to get a lot of candid photographs of the family that really capture what they are all about...the candid joys of life.

Above is one of my favorites from today: Just at the very beginning of the session, as the dad and son entered Mayfield, the sun was shining down at the perfect place!

Family Portrait at St Edward's University

This lovely couple met while attending St. Edward's University, and now years later they have come back to celebrate their family this holiday season at St Ed's as well. The mother also had her bridal portraits taken in front of the main building at St Ed's. Here is one of my favorites from today!

Dad and daugther play on a tree with the beautiful Austin skyline in the distance background! One of those happy accidents...The flash did not fire, however, it made for a beautiful silhouette, creating a photograph that really touches your heart.
