Stepping Backwards...

I am taking a few steps backwards today, it allows me the space to look at myself from third person and reflect on the year of 2008.

Here are a few of my favorite PAST holiday photos...I love Christmas tree lighting!

The Prettiest Peacock

If you frequent my blog at all, you will notice a theme of peacocks, that's because I love photographing at the Mayfield Nature Preserve, home to a "flock" of peacocks.

Every time that I shoot there, I am always amazed at how beautifully different the photos look when I am back at home. Each season brings new changes to the environment for me explore with my camera.

Last year Lani was a flamingo for Halloween, and so I kept with the brightly colored bird theme again this year.

My favorite part of the shoot was when she saw a peacock "fly" from the ground to the top of a cottage. She turned and looked at me, and with the innocence and sincerity of a two year old, and said, "Momma, I want to fly."

Fairies

A Leaf Fairy and a Bat Fairy, just in time for Halloween and all of the Fall Festival fun. We tromped through the forest of West Bouldin Creek, and we discovered magical trees and rocks to balance upon.

And most importantly, the special mother of the fairies that helped to keep the fairies focused and free of stickers in the feet.
